Mission

The mission of the CVNN TF, as of 2010, lies in

(1) the environmental arrangement of CVNN research for the community, and
(2) wide range of research itself by the members in the directions of:

1 Development of theoretical aspects

2 Development of applications in Engineering

2.1 Introduction of learning and self-organization to coherent electronics such as sensing and imaging systems which deals with complex amplitude (radar, sonar, and other systems including image processing, time-series processing, etc.) and other relevant systems.

2.2 Development of fundamental theory of future quantum devices that learns / self-organizes (future VLSI, electron-wave devices, super-conductive electronics, spin electronics, quantum neural devices, etc.)

2.3 Introduction of learning and self-organization to three-dimensional processing and control based on quaternion networks (mechanical control, virtual reality, etc.)

3 Utilization of phase information in physiology (sub mission)

For example, analysis of microscopic firing timing based on phase information in medial enthorhinal cortex.
