IEEE GRSS Malaysia Chapter invited Akira Hirose to hold a talk on Advanced Neural Information Processing in Interferometric Synthtic Aperture Radar (InSAR) and Polarimetric SAR (PolSAR)
7 November 2014

Date & Time: Nov 7 (Fri), 2014, 14:30-16:00
Place: UTAR (Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman), Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia
Host: Prof. Hean Teik Chuah (IEEE GRSS Malaysia Chapter)
Title: hAdvanced Neural Adaptive Processing in Interferometric and Polarimetric Radar Imagingh

Professors Hean Teik Chuah, Hong Tat Ewe, Koo Voon Chet, Yow Ho Kwang, Wang Chan Chin with many KL academia colleagues planned the DLP talk, and evoked many questions for discussion with the attending students and staff. The lecture was held in UTAR Kuala Lumpur Campus. About 50 audience gathered to learn and discuss the highly useful adaptive processing of complex-valued and quaternion neural networks in Interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) and polarimetric SAR (PolSAR). Many questions were made by highly enthusiastic students majoring mostly in remote sensing and/or neural networks. Outside the building we observed heavy rain with thunder, but inside we enjoyed technical key points in complex-valued neural processing with a shower of questions on the neural activation functions in complex domain, frequency band used in the measurements, and so on.
